Upper Dublin High School Announces 2019 Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees

Upper Dublin High School will induct 16 distinguished graduates into its Alumni Hall of Fame, it was proudly announced by Robert Schultz, principal of Upper Dublin High School, and Heidi Yutzler-Overton, program chairperson and Upper Dublin Education Foundation board vice president. Following a rigorous nomination and committee review process, these alumni were selected for the Hall of Fame’s second class. The induction will take place at the Upper Dublin High School on Friday, April 5, 2019.

The Upper Dublin Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes alumni who have achieved distinction, an outstanding accomplishment or have made a significant contribution within their professions, in their communities or in the world. The Alumni Hall of Fame is co-sponsored by the School District and the Upper Dublin Education Foundation. The inaugural class of 21 alumni was inducted in March 2017.

Inductees are selected according to six categories: Arts, Entertainment and Communication; Business and Law; Education; Government and Military; Medicine, Science and Technology; and Philanthropy, Theology and Community Service.

The 2019 honorees are as follows:


  • Michael B. Sisak, III (1958) - Award-winning national journalist, The New York Times

  • Elizabeth Hur (1998) - Correspondent/Anchor, ABC News

  • Tom Warburton (1986) -  Animator, producer, director, writer and designer, with work featured on Disney Channel and Cartoon Network


  • Fred Allegrezza (1976) - Computer technology innovator, inventor and entrepreneur

  • Hon. Patricia Zaffarano, J.D.(1972) -  Magisterial Judge, Montgomery County, PA


  • Helen Fey Fischel (1975) -  Director of Education, Delaware Nature Society

  • Jordan Hyatt, J.D., Ph.D. (1999) -  Nationally-recognized scholar in the field of Criminology


  • John Lynch, J.D. (1996) - Former Major, U.S. Army Rangers 

  • Christopher Stamper, D.P.A. (1985) - Commander, U.S. Navy (Retired); aviator; instructor, Joint Warfighting Department at Air Command Staff College

  • William Yarnall, III (1974; posthumous) - Chief Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force (Retired), Strategic Airlift maintenance superintendent at air bases worldwide


  • Thomas Doyle, M.D. (1979) - Pediatric cardiologist, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Monroe Carell Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University, pioneer in pediatric cardiac catheterization technologies

  • Kathy Shaw, M.D., M.S.C.E. (1974) - Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician and Endowed Chair, Emergency Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Professor and Associate Chair, Pediatrics, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine

  • James Hay, M.D., F.A.A.F.P. (1964) - Family physician, past president of the California Medical Association; founder and board member of multiple charitable community healthcare organizations


  • Chet Derr (1983) - Former Upper Dublin Township commissioner, youth sports advocate; local business owner and community supporter

  • Ronald Foster, M. Div.(1979) - Methodist minister, author, mission trip leader, adjunct faculty at Wesley Theological Seminary, guest lecturer at Princeton University

  • Jewel Lee Herder, S.T.M., Ph.D. (1979) - Lecturer, adjunct faculty, author, historical theologian in church history and the church and society

The Alumni Hall of Fame is located across from the Cardinal Room on the second floor of the high school. Family, friends and community members are invited to join in the celebration by making reservations for the dinner and formal induction ceremony. Additional event details will be available in February.
